Duo Enßle-Lamprecht

Virtuosic, unconventional and brimming with the joy of playing – that is how Anne-Suse Enßle (recorder) and Philipp Lamprecht (percussion) present themselves to their audience. Always on the lookout for the new and the ‘unheard of’, they take their audiences on a journey through medieval and contemporary soundscapes with a seemingly inexhaustible array of instruments.

Founded in 2008 in Salzburg, the ensemble specializes in performances of contemporary works and sound installations, as well as medieval music. The two musicians commission new compositions on a regular basis, expanding the repertoire for the unusual combination of recorder and percussion.

Duo Enßle-Lamprecht’s recording “Tesserae” (audax records, 2017) was nominated for the International Classical Music Award.

Additionally, the duo has been involved in the field of music mediation for young audiences. The ensemble conceptualized and performed a range of concert programs in this context, among other things in cooperation with the International Mozarteum Foundation, the Luxembourg Philharmonic and the Vienna Konzerthaus.

In 2012, the duo was awarded a grant by the Austrian Ministry of Education.
